Let’s give a round of applause to our beloved Orpheum Theater, which is undergoing a transformation as a new location for the Hudson Valley’s independent cinema, Upstate Films. The cultural and entertainment heart of Saugerties, the Orpheum began in the early 20th Century as a roller-skating rink and vaudeville theater prior to becoming a cinema for silent (and later sound) films.
Join us for Singin’ in the Rain, the family-friendly and joyous musical-comedy favorite about the early days of Hollywood, starring Gene Kelly. 1952, 103 mins.
Reminder: The film is shown outdoors at the Saugerties Library. Free and open to the public; bring a chair or a blanket, and please wear a mask if unvaccinated.
